CBCDC Call for Nominations

The Central Baltimore County Democratic Club is accepting self nominations for club officers and board members for a two year term. Elections will be held at the club meeting on April 9, 2019.  

Officer positions are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.  Up to 9 board members may also be elected. Officers and board members must have been club members for at least six months prior to election. 

To self nominate, please respond to this message with your name, the position for which you want to run, contact information, and a paragraph explanation of why you are interested in the position.  The deadline for nominations is on or before Sunday, March 24, 2019.

President. The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Club; shall preside at all meetings of the Members and of the Board of Directors; and shall be an ex officio member of all committees (except the Nominating Committee). The President, or a designated representative of the President, shall represent the Club at all public functions.

Vice President. The Vice President shall perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President, and such other duties as are assigned to the Vice President by the President. The Vice President shall succeed to the office of the President in the event of a vacancy in that office.

Secretary. The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings of the Members and of the Board of Directors; shall be the custodian of all records of the Club; shall maintain a current mailing list of all Members and Associate Members; and shall be editor of the Club Newsletter, which shall be published prior to each meeting of the Members. In the absence of the Secretary, the President or other presidinicer shall appoint a Secretary pro tempore.

Treasurer. The Treasurer shall be in charge of and responsible for all funds of the Club; shall have the authority to execute checks on behalf and in the name of the Club against the accounts of the Club; shall render financial accounts and reports to the Board and to the Club upon request of the President or any Director; and, at least annually, shall submit to the Secretary a written record of when a Member or Associate Member has paid dues. The Treasurer shall submit a budget at the January meeting of the Board of Directors for the Board's approval. In the absence of the Treasurer, the President or other presiding officer shall appoint a Treasurer pro tempore.
