Endorsement Committee’s Report
This year, CBCDC is changing up its normal endorsement process. As per usual, our Endorsement Committee (chaired by VP David Kosak) has issued recommendations for endorsement of statewide candidates. These recommendations will be affirmed or rejected by the membership at our May 13th meeting. If the recommendations are not accepted by a vote of 60%, there will be an opportunity to nominate other candidates for any given office.
CBCDC’s endorsements for Delegate, Senator, and county-level offices will be determined by a straw poll of the dues-paying members present at the May 13th meeting.

Comptroller Peter Franchot has be an important leader for Marylanders over the past eight years as we navigated through tough economic times. He has worked diligently to keep Maryland competitive by creating a climate of economic equality in which government and private business are both held accountable. Peter Franchot has guided Maryland by using technology to make the Office of the Comptroller more accessible and reliable. The CBCDC endorsement committee believes Franchot deserves another four years as our Comptroller. | Maryland Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown has dedicated his life to public service. Over the past eight years, he has been a leader with Governor Martin O'Malley working to move our state forward and to build a better Maryland. Anthony Brown has delivered results for Marylanders. His efforts have helped strengthen our schools, create jobs, and weather the most significant economic crisis in decades. The CBCDC endorsement committee believes he has earned our vote to be the next Governor of Maryland. | State Senator and Judicial Proceedings Committee Chairman Brian Frosh has a strong record of putting Marylanders first when it comes to public safety issues. He has lead efforts in the Maryland General Assembly to protect our children and the most vulnerable among us. Brian Frosh has sponsored successful legislation to protect us from gun violence, to ensure we have clean drinking water, and to hold financial institutions accountable. He is also the AG candidate with the most impressive legal resume and is ready to lead the state’s largest law firm. The CBCDC endorsement committee believes he has earned our vote for Attorney General. |
