Senator Ben Cardin has dedicated his life in public service to the basic belief that by putting principles into action, we can give every Maryland family the opportunity to achieve their dreams. He has become a national leader on fiscal issues, health care, retirement security & the environment. Ben has worked hard in the Senate, and throughout his career, to protect working men and women and their families. His priority, particularly during these tough economic times, is to help create and sustain quality job growth while solving the problems facing middle class families. In 2006, Ben was elected to the U.S. Senate where he serves on the Budget, Small Business & Entrepreneurship, Finance, Environment and Public Works (EPW), and Foreign Relations Committees. He chairs the Water and Wildlife Subcommittee of EPW and the International Development and Foreign Assistance, Economic Affairs and International Environmental Protection Subcommittee of the Foreign Relations Committee. Congressman John Sarbanes has served in the U.S. Congress since 2007. Born and raised in Baltimore, Congressman Sarbanes has experience working in the private, public and non-profit sectors. In 2006, he was elected to the House of Representatives to represent Maryland's Third Congressional District. In the House of Representatives, he has been appointed to the Committee on Energy and Commerce where he served on the Subcommittee on Health and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection. He is currently a member of the Committee on Natural Resources where he serves on the Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands and the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. At the start of the 112th Congress, he was also appointed to the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, where he serves on the Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation and the Subcommittee on Research and Science Education. |
