Kevin Kamenetz press conference regarding the 2010 race for Baltimore County Executive. Tuesday, April 20 at 10:30 am. Upon the conclusion of a successful and informative listening tour, Kevin will make an important announcement regarding his plans for the 2010 election. PUBLIC FORUM: It’s the Classroom Stupid. A Plan to Save America’s Schoolchildren. APRIL 21, 2010, 7:00 – 9:00 pm. The BLEWS (Black and Jewish Forum of Baltimore, Inc) will present a forum on Public Education featuring author and Baltimore City School Board Member, Kalman Hettlemna on April 21, 2010 at Morgan State University.

Mark your calendars for 2 May from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and plan to attend the Gary Rubin Concert and Cabaret at Towson University on a Sunday afternoon in spring. If you’ll be making your way out of the Towsontown Festival or wondering what you might do on such a lovely Sunday evening, check this out:  an opportunity to attend a gracious and pleasant event with friends or loved ones.  It will be a trip down Memory Lane, an evening evoking the music of the past, as this talented singer, his pianist, Brent Hardesty, and other band members please your ears and spirit while you also may enjoy snacks and beverages. REBOOTING DEMOCRACY TOWN HALL MEETING. Sponsored by MoveOn.org

Target Date: May 4th, 2010

 

The focus of the gathering is on how to combat the enormous and growing corporate influence in the arena of politics and public policy. This is an important and salient topic, especially given the recent decision from The Supreme Court to which President Obama so memorably referred during his State Of The Union address before Congress in January. The agenda for the town hall  meeting will include a few speakers, open discussion from the audience, and some breakout sessions to discuss specific areas of interest within a small group setting. MoveOn is hoping for a lively, open exchange of ideas and perspectives and is reaching out to progressive-minded individuals and groups in this area. The final details for the town hall meeting will be worked-out shortly.
