Friends: Some follow up from the August meeting. There are three topics to
bring to your attention: first, an update on the coordinated
campaign; second, we are sharing information about a candidate
debate at Towson University on September 28th; and last but not
least, we are providing information about the Baltimore County
Democratic Party's Unity Dinner on September 27th. The Coordinated Campaign -- First, thank you to everyone who came out this month to support the Democratic Coordinated Campaign at our August meeting. In an hour and a half, we were able to make over 400 calls to Baltimore County residents in a swing district. That's almost three times the number of calls an organizer can make in a whole day! In campaign math, we were able to create about 30 votes for Democratic candidates and in an election where every vote counts this could mean everything. The Democratic Coordinated Campaign is depending on our help to canvass and phone bank. Volunteers are needed to knock on doors, phone bank, and to help with data entry. Please join the Democratic Coordinated Campaign at 301 Allegheny Avenue, Towson, Maryland. The campaign office is open from 10 am to 8 pm weekdays, and from 10 am to 6 pm weekends You or your group can sign up in advance for canvas and/or phone bank shifts. Drop ins are also welcome. You can reach the Democratic Coordinated Campaign through either Ben Fleury (bfleury [at] mddems.org); Sebastian Seydi (sseydi [at] mddems.org); or Dustin Branch (dbranch [at] mddems.org). You can also reach Dustin Branch at 603-722-4802. Please donate some time to the campaign. The Future of 42 Candidate Debate -- The candidates running in the general election for State Senate and State Delegate in District 42 are scheduled to debate on September 28th at the Minnegan Room at Towson University's Johnny Unitas Stadium. Please come to the debate and support the democrats running in the general election: Delegate Steve Lafferty is running for reelection and Robbie Leonard is running for the open seat being vacated by Senator Brochin and both will appreciate your support at the debate.. An event announcement appears below. ![]() The Unity Dinner -- The Baltimore County Democratic Party is hosting its annual Unity Dinner on Thursday, September 27th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There is a cash bar from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and dinner from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The dinner will be held at the Red Lion Hotel Baltimore North, 2004 Greensprng Drive, Timonium, Maryland 21093. Individual tickets are $75 and are available for purchase online. Please support the party in the run up to the general election by attending the dinner. There are less than 77 days to election day. Hope you will get involved and find ways to support the candidates who reflect your values. Kathy |
