CBCDC ENDORSES SENATOR BEN CARDIN
On March 13, 2012, the Central Baltimore County Democratic Club voted unanimously to endorse Senator Ben Cardin in his primary race. Senator Cardin is running in only his second statewide race for re-election to the U.S. Senate against 8 primary challengers. What many of you may not know is that the Democratic primary will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, so please help spread the word.
There are many reasons to support Ben Cardin:
• Senator Cardin works around the partisan gridlock to support investments in programs that will help jumpstart our economy and create jobs. He believes that our economy must be fair and must work for everyone.
• American small businesses create American jobs. Cardin has been active in promoting federal investments and programs that support the growth of small businesses.
• In Maryland, the heart of our economy, environment and way of life is found in the Chesapeake Bay. Cardin is recognized as the leading advocate in the Senate for clean water protections and a fighter for safe drinking water.
• Cardin is proud that affordable, quality health care is now a right and not a privilege for all Americans.
• A vibrant transportation infrastructure promotes and helps sustain economic growth and that means jobs. Cardin has been a vocal advocate for public transportation and a leader in the Senate on initiatives that help ease congestion and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
In an environment that can be so polarized, Ben is a voice of reason in Washington. Somehow he finds a way to work across party lines to find a fair and balanced approach to getting things done. This is a rare trait among elected officials these days.
Please mark April 3, 2012 on your calendar and cast your vote in the primary. If you can do it, please take advantage of Early Voting which begins on March 24th.
