The following motion is offered by CBCDC member Tom Dawes. It will be debated and voted upon at our next meeting. You must be a member in good standing to vote.

The members of the Central Baltimore County Democratic Club respectfully
request that you consider the following proposal:

This is the moment for which we all worked so hard when President Obama
was elected. Life for many Americans hangs  in the balance. We do not
expect perfection in the final health care reform bill, but we do expect a
start down the road to affordable health care for all. We do expect you to
work diligently to deliver to us what Democrats envisioned when President
Obama was elected.

Our promise to you is to support you as you make what may be an unpopular
decision. You do not have Republican support and, unless you act now to
ensure health care reform, you are likely to lose the support of the base
that worked tirelessly to put a Democratic majority in place. It is time
to make history by valuing health and lives over corporate money and
influence. We will do our best to counter the Republican threat to defeat
you in the coming election. We will stand by you and remember you in
November for delivering on the campaign promise of our party.
